The testing world has evolved into one that requires a high level of technical competency and coding ability to properly test and built the testing framework for success. However, not everyone is technically minded, but still offers up exceptional testing ability and experience that they remain valuable to their development teams. These shouldn’t be lost, but rather harnesses and development to make for an even better tester.
In this talk I want to share some lessons I have learnt in working with non-technical testers and helping them cross the divide into technical testing, as well as sharing some corporate strategies that have helped companies make that important transition to technical testing.
The purpose of this talk is to help break down some of these barriers of entry for people that need to understand some of the concepts of technical testing in a simplistic manner, as well as look at some mentoring and skills development techniques that can drive improvement and ways this development can be monitored.
